Tandem Skydiving: Experience the Thrill of Soaring Over Michigan’s Beautiful Shore

Preparing for Your Jump

When you arrive for your appointment, we ask that you come inside to check in with the front desk. We'll already have your down payment. So, we'll then finalize all tandem skydiving cost payments.After that, you'll complete the paperwork needed.

Next, you'll head into the training class to master some essentials and be fitted with the harness you'll wear during your jump. Expect this to take 30 to 40 minutes. We'll also weigh you on our scale to make sure you are under the weight limit. If you are concerned about this, talk to us ahead of time!

Get Video and Pictures of Your Tandem Skydive

We aren't going to let you walk away with the ultimate bragging rights without some footage! Video prices can be found on our website. Prior to your dive, we'll conduct a pre-jump interview capturing your emotions leading up to the big moment. We also capture footage of your jump. Check out examples of our footage.

Boarding and Flight

Your instructor will accompany you to the boarding area for a 15-minute flight to altitude, usually between 8,500 and 10,500 feet. You'll hop onto the aircraft and take a seat on the floor in front of your instructor. Your instructor will guide you on how to buckle and unbuckle your seatbelt. As you approach the jump altitude, the instructor will secure your harness, positioning you in the right position for getting out the door.  Then the door will open. Your instructor will scoot the two of you to the door. This is it. Here we go!

Anticipating the Skydive Experience: What Is Tandem Diving?

Tandem skydiving is the best and most popular way to skydive for the first time. With tandem skydiving, you'll be connected to an experienced instructor for the entire descent.

Is tandem skydiving safe? We know it's the question your friends and loved ones are going to be asking the moment you tell them you've booked such an experience! Millions of people skydive each year without any incidents. Our team has supervised thousands of sky-dives over Michigan! Of course, there's an inherent risk to this activity for obvious reasons, but we take safety seriously and have a great safety record.

During your experience, you'll experience the intense adrenaline rush that comes with traveling at 120 miles per hour for 30 to 40 seconds. You'll be dropping approximately 1,000 feet for every six seconds of freefall while once-in-a-lifetime views of Charlevoix, Lake Michigan, Grand Traverse Bay, Beaver Island, and the Mackinac Bridge come into view.

Parachute Ride

The most amazing part of your tandem skydiving experience is when your chute opens. At that point, you'll slow down to experience time-stopping as you take in the views around you. With descending time lasting five to six minutes, you will have plenty of time to truly savor the experience. Don't forget that your instructor knows this view better than anyone. Don't hesitate to ask them to point out highlights on the skyline.

Landing

When your jump comes to an end, you'll make a hero's return back to the drop zone. Many people bring along family and friends to share this euphoric moment. Take it all in! However, we have to warn you that there's a good chance you'll start planning your next dive in your mind the moment you land!

Preparing to Skydive

We want to make sure we're setting you up for success before you even show up for your appointment. Here's your checklist to be fully prepared for first-time Michigan skydiving:

  • Be Prepared for Weather Conditions: We want our customer to know that we do everything within our power to make sure that appointments start on time. However, we operate under the influence of a number of factors that are simply out of our control. Our jumps occasionally get backed up due to the weather. Both windy and rainy conditions can keep us grounded until the skies clear up.

  • Leave Enough Time: Some jumps simply take longer than expected for various reasons. Our planes can also be slowed by Air Traffic Control based on local traffic patterns over the skies of Michigan. We ask our clients to block off half a day for their experience to take into account potential delays. However, your skydive will likely happen much faster than that.

  • Dress Comfortably: We stress the importance of wearing comfortable, nonrestrictive clothing and sneakers. We also encourage you to check your outfit for any loose or dangling fabrics or accessories that could become caught in our equipment. And no hooks on your shoes please.

  • Don't Fast Before Your Jump: With your diving experience potentially lasting several hours, we encourage you to eat a light-to-normal meal prior to arrival to ensure that you do not become weak or woozy from hunger during your dive.
