Skydiving to school: Charlevoix principal starts academic year with high-flying entrance

Charlevoix Middle/High School Principal Dan Terryberry kicked off the new school year in dramatic fashion by skydiving onto the school’s soccer field on Tuesday.

With assistance from Luther Kurtz of Skydive Charlevoix, Terryberry made the daring jump and landed safely in front of the cheering crowd of students and staff.

85-year-old plans to sky dive over Charlevoix with goal of 1,000 jumps

An 85-year-old international sky diver from Michigan is taking a leap in Charlevoix this weekend.

Kim Emmons Knor was a competitive sky diver, making history as a member of the first women’s parachute team. After a 37-year hiatus, she’s back to achieve her goal of gold wings for 1,000 sky dives.

Two boys battling cancer get the chance to go sky diving with Skydive Charlevoix

Some wishes came true Friday in Charlevoix for two boys who have been battling cancer.

Skydive Charlevoix was able to make a special exception for a 17-year-old and an 11-year-old to go sky diving.
